Youth

Welcome to the youth group of The Presbyterian Church of Danville.

Our church is committed to the growth and support of an amazing youth program. We provide opportunities for our youth to experience friendship, fellowship, and fun. These range from mission and service opportunities, weekly meeting times, outrageous and enlightening camp experiences and of course time to be completely crazy and wild! We try to plan each year around a central theme or concept and build from there. This year's theme is “Breaking the Code, Following the Map, and Seeking the Treasure.” Below is a list of many of the things we do in the life of the youth at the church.

Mission/Service:

  • Monthly service projects, such as: Trick or Can, serving meals at the church, Phelps Christmas Mission, local work with the humane society, and more!
  • Summer Mission trips: We are able to send our youth on a couple of mission trips. They can go to Mexico with Living Waters, and we also go to Mountain T.O.P. in Tennessee.

Weekly Meetings:

  • Second Wind: Second Wind is a time for the youth to gather mid-week, eat, laugh, and talk together about life. We take this time to discuss topics that are important to them, TV, music, movies, etc. It's a wonderful break in the middle of the week.
  • High School Bible Study: This group meets before Second Wind for an in-depth look at the bible, its implication to today, and gather insights from everyone as to its meanings.
  • Youth Group: Meeting every Sunday, and occasionally on different days, this group is where it's at! From crazy games involving duct tape and saran wrap, to singing, to food and fellowship.

Burnamwood:

There is a wonderful opportunity for all the youth of the presbytery. That is going to Camp Burnamwood in the fall and spring for retreats, and in the summer for week long camps. For more information please visit www.burnamwood.net.

Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech
and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
